About
Ricky Reynoso is a New York based costume designer.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, and of proud Mexican descent, he had a very DIY start to costume design. Dying garments in the backyard, thrifting at dollar sales, and overzealously applying Swarovski crystals is where he began.
Ricky moved to New York City to study costume design within the Production & Design studio in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. During his time there, he has had the pleasure of designing costumes for productions both large and small, modern and period, musical and non musical. He has also had the privilege of working with Clint Ramos: first as an intern on Sunday in the Park with George, and then as the first New York City Center Encores! Off-Center costume apprentice for their summer 2018 season.
Since moving to New York, he has taken special interest in learning about the history, production, and use of textiles, as well as bleach and dye techniques. In his free time, Ricky enjoys going to concerts, people-watching in the park, and the sweet release of watching bad reality television (mostly The Real Housewives).
